It's been a while..

I know I haven't written in a while but it's been for the best here haha. I hit a rough patch about two weeks ago and didn't feel like making this blog a whine fest, so I wanted to wait until my spirits were high again and I could keep the mood of all this a little more fun.

Now I'm told there's a method to foreign teachers moods here and I can't remember them all right now, but the first is fascination, then..something something..and somewhere along the way is Rock Bottom, and as Asim says, I hit rock bottom rather quickly hahah. But with some good news my mood has changed and I feel alot better here. My weight has stabilized and my diet/appetite have been getting better every week. So things are looking up here.

Another piece of great news is that Shannon signed a contract and is coming to Korea, very soon. And she'll be very close (Thats why my mood has changed;) haha.

We celebrated Halloween here at Maple Bear and the kids loved it. We had an array of activities for the children; from mask making, dance parties and a haunted house...where we were a little proud we made a couple of our 'tough' students scream..and cry..hahaha..sad I know..haha

It was alot of work decorating the night before for just one day, but Sarah (my teaching partner) spearheaded the whole thing and the day would not have been what it was without her, to say the least.

Another piece of news is that I found a competent hair cutter! Boo yah! haha, I walked into this posh hair salon and I thought I making a biiiig mistake haha. I sat down and they served me a latte (oooo fannccy) and then she started to cut (Sarah wrote me a note sayign what I wanted done to the hair) and she did great! I got a haircut, a wash, scalp massage, shoulder massage and a blow dry..oy...haha all for like $13..it was hilarious.

Oh yeah, Asim and Etaf convinced me to try on this traditional costume for a photo op. Well, I did and then this chick from Ottawa wanted to get her photo with me, so I made small talk and told her i'm from Cape Breton..then she didn't say another word..weeiirrd. But then some Korean chicks wanted their pictures with the weguks (sp?) Canadian foreigners, I think. So we got a laugh out of them.

As for weekends here, nothing tooo interesting is going on. Fall is finally arriving and I've been into some palaces, but they're getting old..to say the least! Oy! We're going hiking to Bukhansan again to try and get some fall foilage photos in the mountains this weekend so hopefully something will turn out from that. But I'm happy so far with what I've photographed.

Trying to stay sane around here can be a bit of a challenge, sometimes you feel like a robot. Wake up, teach, eat, gym, sleep and then repeat the next day. I need to get out more in the evenings, to say the least!
